Healing in Solidarity

Building Community Resilience

In the current moment of COVID-19 economic recovery, rising anti-Asian Hate & Violence, and racial reckoning around the history of Anti-Black racism in the US, our communities must deepen our long-term commitment to racial justice.

This program strives to inspire and initiate conversations mobilizing Black and Asian communities to support one another through artist expression.

XIA welcomes Asian & Black artists to advance in solidarity and healing by uplifting their voices and cultivating their creativity in an exhibition at XIA Gallery & Cafe. The exhibition will be up for 8 weeks long.

Each artist can display only one creative piece in the exhibition. In this exhibit, the creative piece should reflect but not limited to:

  • Cross Racial Allyship, Solidarity, Unity

  • Anti-racism

  • Healing, Racial Healing

  • Equitable Community Development

  • Social Justice and Racial Equity

Participating artists will receive a stipend of $1000 and have an opportunity to connect & converse with other artists, as well as grow as an artist & entrepreneur. Artists are welcomed to submit previous or new work. Creative work can be visual designs, animations, embroidery, sculptures, ect. Size of art submission will also be considered in the selection process to meet space capacity. Accommodations will be made as the gallery sees fit.
